Teeth Whitening- How to go about it? (dentist, cost, baby)

Has anyone had success with teeth whitening? Did you buy it from your dentist, over the counter, Ebay or somewhere else? What was the cost?

The simplest option is a whitening toothpaste. That's all I've ever used but then my intent was simply to control ordinary food/drink stains without damaging the enamel, not blind anyone. If that doesn't provide the results you want, ask your dentist about other options. I'd be very careful about product claims made by ebay sellers. You only get one set of teeth (well, after your baby teeth fall out that is).
