Does anyone use one~? I have had my Oral B for 5 plus years. It is starting to give up at times and I need to replace it. What is the longest time that you have had yours to last?
I only started using an electric brush about 10 years ago. Replaced my first basic Sonicare just over a year ago when the battery's charging capacity dwindled. The brush itself still works, just not as long. However, I don't use the electric every single time. Sometimes I change things up and brush manually, so that may have lengthened its useful life. Still gives me a bit of heartburn that these batteries aren't replaceable. Unless you are lucky enough to have more sophisticated recycling options, you're tossing the entire brush straight into a landfill !

Love my Sonicare. I am on my second. This one is maybe 4 years old. It really helps, even with gum health. I wouldn`t even know how to use a regular toothbrush anymore. LOL
My wife and I both used sonicare for probably 10 years. Would recommend. Recently switched to Oral B (maybe io series?) based on the recommendation of my dentist. She still sues sonicare. Dentist said the oscillating brush head was better for my gums. I can't tell a difference between the two.
I will say - when I'm gone for a week or two and use different toothbrush (i travel w/ a Quip), I can definitely tell a difference.

A friend gave me an extra unused battery powered brush. Don't recall what brand. IMHO it probably matters more than you're brushing appropriately, not which brand you choose to do it with.
I've been using Oral B electric toothbrushes for years. I received an Oralb 5000 when I was doing product reviews for BzzAgent, that was my second one. It worked much better than the first, but didn't last as long. I replaced it around 5 years after it was sent to me. However, I didn't do as the instructions recommended (which most other people don't follow either).
Once a year, you need to -not- recharge the battery. And use it every night, until it finally conks out. Then charge it back up. That refreshes it, somehow. I don't know the science behind that, but that's what you're supposed to do.
The basic OralB is only $20, and it works just fine. Much better than a manual. You can get un-branded brush heads at reasonable prices on Amazon, and their brand-name brush heads are also less expensive than in the stores.
