I plan on relocating to the Denver area in the next two months but I don't really know the area all that well.

I'm still under a lease with my apartment company here in Atlanta, but I can move without penalty to any of their complexes in the Denver area.

My apartment choices are Broomfield, Englewood, Littleton, Westminister, & Denver(on the map this Denver apartment is about 11 miles East of the business district, and appears to be in-between Glendale & Aurora).

If it helps, I'm a 30 year old single male, no kids, I enjoy the young singles nightlife such as hip clubs, bars, & good restaurants, and spending time outdoors in parks and hiking trails. I'm no stranger to traffic (I live in Atlanta!) but I'd rather not live in a suburb where traffic is among the worst in the area.

I'd prefer to live closer in to where all the jobs and things to do are, and if I had to commute, then commute outwards to the 'burbs.

So far, Westminster sounds like it's fairly convienent to the downtown nightlife.

I'm still in the process of finding a job, so that will be the final determination of which part of town I move to, but any advice on the five towns mentioned above would be helpful!

Sounds like you would enjoy the Downtown Denver area. There is a nice mix of apartments-homes, and you are close to the nightlife for sure! Make sure to check out lower downtown, or lodo as we call it here.

Thanks Altitude for the heads-up - unfortunately my apt. leasing company doesn't have any complexes in lower downtown that I can move to. I'm stuck with these guys, at least for another year. The three options I can move to that are closest to downtown seem to be in Westminister, Englewood(southern part, near Cherry Creek State Park), and on the East side of Denver in Aurora. Broomfield and Littleton I think I can eliminate, they seem too far on the outskirts for my tastes.

Still not quite sure where I'm going to end up working, I'm lining up interviews right now and the companies seem to be spread across the city of Denver and the rest are in Englewood, Centennial, & Commerce City. I'm staying away from the Boulder area, so everything I'm applying to is within a 15-mile radius of downtown Denver, and thankfully my choices of apartments are all within that radius. I'm no stranger to traffic - I do live in Atlanta! - so I can deal with a 30ish minute commute if need be.

Since I'm locked into AMLI (my apartment leasing company) for another year, I'm going to go with the AMLI complex that offers the most convienence to the downtown nightlife and things to do for a young and physically active single guy. As mentioned above, AMLI has apartments in the east-side of Denver close to Aurora, Englewood, & Westminster.

I'd say Westminster is your best bet. Although it is suburbia, it's still a fairly close drive to downtown. I'd definitely avoid Aurora. You're probably going to have a 30 minute drive into town no matter which you choose.

Yeah, so far that sounds like a good bet. I do like the idea of Englewood, there seems to be a lot of jobs there from what I've come across, however Google Maps shows AMLI's apartment complex in Englewood is actually in Greenwood Village, but with an Englewood address. It's right next to the county airport and too far South and out of the way IMO from downtown Denver when compared to Westminster.
