Hey everyone!
I am just needing an advice/recommendation about apartments. I want to rent an apartment near or in downtown. Reasonably priced. I can't afford more than 850-900 a month. But I am single, so it's just me. Don't need a huge castle.
Any good advice on that?
Thanks!

Default Traveling to Denver. How long?

Hey guys!
I will be coming to Denver in 2 weeks to have an idea about the city, to make sure I like it enough to move. I was also planning to check out some aparments and talk to few people about job options.
Do you think 3 days is enough for these purposes or not even close?
Thanks!

Do you have a job lined up?
Where do you live now?
What do you like/hate about it?

Three days ought to give you a very good idea of the city and what it has to offer. More is always better, but three should do it if you arrive with a plan and stick to it.

3 days is plenty for Denver. In fact, I think two days would be adequate to really find out what Denver is all about. Apartment hunting can be VERY time consuming though... in any city. Try to identify some potential places of interest before you come so you can go from one to the next and be efficient on your trip.

I saw some nice apartments in the east part of Capital Hill (nicer part), right near the west side of Cheeseman park, around 10th-12th streets, around $900. Cap Hill has apartments as cheap as 700 (1 BR) that are decent, so IME $900 will get you a nice place. I found them just walking around, looking for signs. Lots of nice deco-style brick buildings. They may not have balconies, but they do tend to be from a period when windows were large which is nice year-round. Some companies manage multiple apartments so these signs should give you access to more listings ... unfortunately I don't know any rental agencies by name. We had a cat so that knocked 50% of the places off our list.

Another option would be the "Golden Triangle" area south of downtown, or the Baker neighborhood, but I think Golden Triangle tends to be newer, large buildings that would rent for more than $900.

3 days will be plenty. Here's an affordable hotel that's right between the Uptown and Downtown areas. If you stay in this hotel, you will have access to Uptown by walking which is the best way to find some nice places. Based on your budget, you should be able to find some nice apts & condos in the Uptown area. I think you'll be very pleased with this area. Also, since you will be so close to downtown, you could search for recruiters in your career field and set up appointments while you are here. Good luck to you!!
