Hey Everyone,

Moving into a condo this week behind 9 News Station just off Speer and within walking distance to Washington Park.. Guy is asking for $800 which covers the following: 1 reserved parking spot, snow removal, trash, and maintenance.

I was advised that the average cost for the remaining utilities is $40. Electric around $20 and then additional costs for Cable/Internet.

Condo is 700sq ft. Comes with a fireplace and a private balcony that wraps around the living room to the bedroom. There is also a pool and barbeque grills. Downstairs has a "clubhouse" area with a pool table, mini bar and a few recliners to watch tv.

I currently pay $740 (that includes everything even cable/wifi) at my current apartment. However, it is only 490sq feet. That is the main reason I need to move.

Does the condo price seem reasonable? The building is pretty upkeep and primarily full of young professionals.

I will also put out there that my Gross Salary per month is $2900

I should also mention that I dont need to sign a lease, I only pay month to month and can move out at any time

I think it sounds good, but hopefully a few others will reply.
I'm not sure what kind of cable or internet you're looking for, but I'd say that Comcast would be at least $100/month for both, depending on what type of plan you get, if you go with Comcast. I'm on some sort of promotion right now with Comcast and the cost is about $107/month after all of the taxes, etc. Something to keep in mind, I guess?

I currently have Xfinity at I think 29.99 for the first year (which means I have about 7 months left). I would have to get some type of ihigh speed internet though since I do online gaming and what not. Ill have to look up costs. I know the 2nd year of my Xfinity bill will be $49.99 per month.

And, you want our approval?
Does your mother still tuck you in at night?
You should be jumping at this unless the inside is a complete s_h_i_t_hole.

Don't need approval, just still fairly new to the area and wanted to see if this is a fairly good price... Im still used to rental prices where I grew up in Western NY (Could get 700sq foot apartments for $500)... From the sound of it, it sounds like a great price so Ill be moving in Thursday

Agree with all that's been said. Jump on it, now!

I pay $350 more for the something similar (800-ish sq ft, no fireplace) AND I pay $80 average for electric, another $80 average for gas & $60 for an additional parking space. Also, no cable comes with mine (so I opted to go without a TV) but I'm lucky in that I pull in the free Wi-Fi from the 1st floor community room as I'm on the 2nd floor. Slow as it is, I can't complain, it's free.

You found yourself a fine deal there. Snap it up fast! Hope you enjoy your new home!

Jumped on it, there are a few complexes that surround the condo so im going to see if I can "borrow" their internet, if not ill shell out the extra for internet and then decide if I want to keep the cable or not

That is pretty great for the Wash Park area. Is it an apartment tower? Even 1 bedrooms in that area can run 1000+ w/o bills.
