I'm a fan of Harvard Gulch. The park is large with a small yet well maintained rec center, outdoor pool and a golf course. The park has walking paths and while well used, it's not crowded, like Wash park. It's close to South Pearl in Platt Park, as well as the DU area and old Englewood. Nice neighborhood.

OP- Just keep looking. We were searching clist, pad mapper and Zillow at least 3 times a day for 2 weeks. We went and saw a bunch of dumps but then something finally came through. Seems that it is hard to rent here with cats (Denver seems to be full of dog people!) but we found a landlord who was willing to take them with a larger (refundable) deposit. Good luck

Some HOAs prohibit any Dogs or cats. I personally will not rent to people with cats unless there are no other alternatives, and then only with a large additional security deposit. I am ok with smaller dogs.

Craigslist and Padlister seem to be fading in favor of Zillow. Postlets is a way for us landlords to feed Zillow, HotPads, Trulia, etc. with one posting.

Because of the several hours delay from Postlets to Zillow, maybe sitting on Postlets will give you an edge.
Postlets seems to be for posting only; no searching.

Edit: Never mind, I missed the tiny "Browse listings" link in the footer.
