For what it's worth....my house is in the 80012 zip code. I put it on the market Friday and it had an offer 24 hours later for the full asking price (which was almost $50K more than what I paid for it when I first bought it). Obviously we have many steps to complete before everything is 'final', but....there you have it.

Ok, I have been doing some research, and it seems like the Denver metro area will be a stretch financially but possible. Now I've looked at Colorado Springs and it seems as if the home are a little cheaper and the schools have better rating. My only concern or question would be regarding diversity. Is it worth spending the extr money so my children don't feel uncomfortable in their surroundings. Just want my family to be comfortable thanks again everyone.

Please do not shell out money to seek out diversity. Not sure you'll get a return on your money.

Stick to the south side of Aurora, near Centennial, area. East Colfax and Peoria North are a little rough around the edges........some say improving. Someone once said; if you find a home you like, park your car and take a walk around the area.....this is so true.

Renting, is a great idea.......Denver is a huge metro place. Lots of special places to live, we lived near Chambers and Colfax, about 15 years ago.....was going down hill then. The new University hospital complex at Colfax and Peoria is bringing new growth to the area. Changes are happening, for the better.

Colorado Springs is a pretty nice place to live; that sure would be a hard commute; lots of traffic. There is Bustang a bus service between Denver and Colorado Springs......

I here you David. Just don't need any extra aggravation. Life is already complicated with other things to worry about.
Thanks mic and Molly for your comments.
