I am going to get my new Colorado DL shortly.

Since moving here, I've decided to split my time between here, (on the front range: Westminster - Adams County) and Crested Butte. I will have permanent address at both locations.

I've already discovered that it was much cheaper to get my Colorado license plates in Gunnison County (Crested Butte area) as opposed to here. The folks in Gunnison were much nicer as well!

If I get my DL in Gunnison County as well, there will only be a P.O. Box address on the it, as opposed to a regular address here on the Front Range.

I just want to make sure I consider all the pros and cons before making a decision.

Why would it be cheaper in Gunnison County to get your license? I can understand it might be cheaper to get your plates there but isn't DL the same price through out the state?

Think about the times that you may need to show your driver's license. For example, we are with Kaiser and have to show our license when we check in for medical care. The address on the license is supposed to be the same as the address in their records. How about voting -- where will you be registered to vote? Again, you'll need your license as proof of i.d.

BTW, even if you don't get mail delivered in Crested Butte, you'll still have a street address. That is the address that you put on your license, not your mailing address.

Driver's license has to be a physical address, not a P.O. box.

I'd also check into emission requirements for the two locations
