I've heard mixed thing about it.

If you have an out of state plate (from a state that doesn't require it), you might be OK...you will just be risking the fine for not switching to CO plates within the 60 day time frame, or whatever it is.

But if you have only one CO plate you will have a greater chance of getting hit. I know one guy who apparently only had 1 plate for 2 years. I also know a neighbor who got a ticket the week after getting a new car.

It wouldn't be a random pull over but a pull over of a bona fide law breaker.

I've seen some cars without them but not many. But I no longer live in the Front Range. Maybe so many rich transplants with attitudes are moving there that the number of those has increased. By attitudes, I mean, "I will risk the fines to avoid unprettifying my expensive car, because I have so much money that the fines are no deterrent."

Maybe the fines should be increased. As long as one of those owners doesn't cause an accident (such as a rear ender) where he is at fault, it doesn't harm someone else. But if he does, well I hope witnesses can ID the car even without a plate if he does a hit-and-run.
There isn't a single topic that someone won't bring back to transplants, is there?

well, everything IS our fault and we do nothing but harm the city. Maybe we should all leave and let Denver crumble like many of the northeast cities? Maybe it would be more appealing for some then?

Hello? Did you forget the actual phrase used, "RICH transplants with ATTITUDES"? Not the same as all transplants, which includes a large percentage of the population that somehow manages to put the legally-required front plates on their cars.

It is the people who move in and think they are above the laws that make others resent them so much. And in case you didn't notice, Denver was no crumbling city before the latest boom.

I still don't understand why front license plates are such a big deal to some people. In my experience, in most cases, it's easy to buy a license plate holder for the front of the vehicle that doesn't require ruining the front bumper. Although I've lived in a state that doesn't issue a front license plate (Pennsylvania), the majority of states require them, so most newcomers should be used to having a front plate already.
