Back when Denver had a residency requirement for city jobs, GVR was an enclave for people who had to live in Denver but didn't want to live close-in to downtown. After that requirement was removed GVR went downhill. When we moved back in 2011 it wasn't the greatest area. Vandalism was the primary concern then.

I don't think you'll have to worry about home invasions or getting shot in your front yard or anything like that. If you have kids in school right now I'd really put a lot of thought into whether or not to buy there because the schools aren't anything to write home about. Most are rated in the 4-5 range.

I think as housing prices continue to rise you may see more and more people looking at areas like GVR, and even further out like Watkins, Bennett, Strasburg, and Byers.

I replied to your GVR request in the other post and included a little blurb about the schools. I honestly don't think you'll have to worry about kids being mugged at any of the schools.

Thanks. I must've missed that.
