On our honeymoon we found this hot dog place near the capital building, by accident due to the fact I got lost. Schinders? (sp) Thought they had good dogs, better than dog here in Nebraska. Who knew a hot dog can be a sandwich =>

Yes, on University Blvd, just north of Evans.

Default Steve's Snappin Dogs

I can't believe nobody has mentioned this yet. The best hot dogs in town are at Steve's Snappin' Dogs on Colfax. They do have hamburgers on the menu, but their selection - and more importantly, quality - of hot dogs can't be beat.

Steve's Snappin' Dogs

They have the most authentic Chicago style dog you'll find in Colorado, along with some other combinations. Or you can just create your own from a long list of toppings.

heh
Looks like Steve's opened after I left.
Looks like there has been a difference of opinion as to how good they are, too.
In that same Westword article, this hot dog place is mentioned:
Old Fashioned Italian Deli (http://www.westword.com/search/restaurants.php?oid=53358 - broken link)
This deli (I never heard of it, but it's in Littleton, 395 W. Littleton Blvd to be exact, out of my old central Denver comfort zone) has won Best Hot Dog in 2006, 2007 and 2008. They serve Buffalo style dogs.
However, the readers' choice was Steve's.
I think y'all should go out, have a taste test, and report back.
