My son is moving to Denver for a job offer, which they want him there right away. They are looking for something near the rail, they have two bunnies, 2 bedrooms. They do not want an apartment. Budget is $2000 tops. Any ideas?

Start with padmapper.com

Our regular posters in the Denver forum need the approx location of the job since the rail lines cover a large geographical area, from DIA airport all the way to the foothills in Golden and south to Lone Tree. If we knew the cross streets of his work, and any travel requirements he might have, then we could zero in some good advice for you. Until we know the cross streets, etc, all we can do is give you generalities that will be of little help.

$2K is doable.
But you will have to burrow into many sources of listings.
And, forget 2 bedrooms. One.

Does your son know which rail line he wants to be near?

It might be possible to find something near-ish to Nine Mile Station in Aurora - for example:

I was assuming "near the rail" meant walking distance, not 4+ miles away. But maybe OP will clarify if she ever comes back.

Maybe, the OP was vague in many respects.

Additional info: there is a bus line that runs east/west on Hampden that goes directly to Nine Mile.
