I don't know much about the Jeffco schools, which includes both Golden and Lakewood. I'd estimate the better part of an hour to hiking with trees from Broomfield.

Have you been to Castlewood Canyon? You could live in Parker and be 20 minutes from the canyon and 45 mins from Downtown Denver. Spruce Mountain and Dawson Butte are only 30-35 mins from Parker and Staunton State Park is a little under an hour away.

Broomfield is only 30 mins or so from Eldorado Canyon State Park and 20 mins from Chautaqua Park. Chautaqua is super crowded, though.

True. I forgot about both of them.
