Hi,

We may be relocating to the Denver area for work from San Francisco, CA. My husband's company is located in the Littleton/Englewood region. He doesn't want a long commute (anything over 15-20 minutes is considered long), but I have lived in San Francisco for many years and am afraid that I will miss the diversity. It is important to me to be near lots of cute shops and restaurants. Do you have any advice on which neighborhoods we should consider that are approx 15-20 minutes from Englewood and what the price ranges are for renting and/or buying?

Thanks in advance for your advice,

Is you husband's company located near a light rail station? If so, you could easily commute from Washington Park. Some of the other neighborhoods with cute shops may be a little longer for commute. As for prices, Wash Park is pricey for the Denver area, but if you lived in SF, you probably could afford anything in Denver. Transit system maps can be found at The Regional Transportation District Home Page

Also, the Littleton/Englewood area is pretty diverse, and Ltn has a nice little downtown.

I second downtown Littleton, it's a very nice area with a cute downtown, restaurants, shops and is surrounded by older homes. It's also on the SE lightrail line which takes you downtown.

I recommend Wash Park, Bonnie Brae or Platt Park. Very walkable and access to light rail. Also convenient to I-25 from commuting perspective.

What is your price range?

I was thinking about Washington Park or the Highlands Berkeley area. Unfortunately, our budget isn't huge. Probably about $300-$400K. How long does it take to drive from Highlands to Englewood and from Washington Park to Englewood? Thanks,

Lots of cute shops and restaurants? My first thought is Cherry Creek. Not sure about the diversity...

Depends on where in Englewood. Lots of places have Englewood addresses.

I actually don't know the address. I was just wondering if it would be possible to commute from Wash Park or the Berkeley Highlands within 30 minutes.

My husband's primary concern is the commute. He doesn't want to have to deal with a huge commute. But for me, I guess it is more about the community that I find myself in. We are both in our 30s and we don't have any children, which is why I am hesitant about the suburbs. I am thinking it might be awkward if everyone else has kids and we don't.
