Nice suggestion, but this doesn't address the main issue.

The original premise was that Drake was so much more expensive to attend than U of M. Wouldn't Creighton be just as, or even more, expensive?

Cost of living was only a minor issue and I think most agree that could be managed (i.e...it is not like he's weighing COL of moving to the East Coast).

As far as the pace of life goes, I'm not too worried about it. I will say that everywhere I've worked in Iowa has been pretty laid back; and I do anticipate missing that if the same doesn't ring true in TC as many have indicated here on this thread. I keep a pretty rigerous pace as it is. I work about 50 hours per week and then between class and college studying (to keep up the straight A's) I put in another 40 hours per week. Balancing this load with being "present" as a parent and spouse indeed prove to be fast paced. From what I hear about DSM law firms the pace is pretty rigerous nonetheless. Additionally, I was deployed to Afghanistan for a year in the not too distant past.

All I can share is me experience and opinion. I moved from Marshalltown (about 60 miles NE of Des Moines) to the twin cities nearly a year ago to attend Le Cordon Bleu and since then, my lifestyle has improved 3x. I have access to activities, REAL culture, restaurants EVERYWHERE, theatres, clubs, bars, and museums, jobs, you NAME IT!
But that's just me and my experience, and I will always have that soft spot for the place I spent the first 18 years of my life. I would encourage you to come up, for sure.
