I commend you for all the time and thought you put into your projects. I like the name "RIP"...lol. What are your plans for the residential areas of the city? How will you attract people to not only come here for recreation, but residency as well?

I decided to add 80 50'x50' home unit Condos/ Apts. Along Rosa Parks Avenue to make up for the 32 homes I misplaced in the plans, On the Lower Level of the 6 story complex there will be restaurants and another access point/ entryway to the water-park, on the roof, 7 stories in the air a park complete with shrubs trees and a bike path. Also I decided to use Radiant heating inside the concrete people walk on heating the water-park only to 12 feet above the people's head instead of heating the entire 30 feet and in some spaces 60 feet with the same system. The upper area will be kept at 50 degrees by Heat Pumps and several furnaces with forced air. Outside the sidewalk will be white and reflect the sun. The Roof also has many Photovalic cells to absorb sun energy to use as light at night. The Park Requires no lights during the day, during the winter nights the roof windows will close saving valuable energy.

Great question. I would suggest turning Detroit into a City like New York Breaking The City into a conglomeration of Burroughs, Each with their own Distinct Centers. In this way Power will be restored to the community. In which each community can determine the best way to help out. Bing's proposal is to shrink the city, my Idea is to Seperate the city, but by doing so it would or at least should get to the root of all problems and allow the city's burroughs to do whats best for them. It will also allow police to have less areas to patrol. Eventually as areas re develop as business centers the entire city will have islands within itself. Example: Downtown will remain the center at which all burroughs can be represented. Mexicantown will become a true Burrough with its own business center or basically a small downtown of its own. Delray, Corktown, ect. Will become their own center. Also there is great need for connection to all suburbs via light rail, or other mass transit options. Instead of taking the money from the outskirts, giving it to them will open the city up.

To build residency you need Commercialism or Industry, both we have but not in an adequate form. With Commute worsening within the city and the funding costs increasing, and ridership falling we desperately need to focus on transportation. The City is falling apart, ripping itself apart at its seams. With Corporate Greed rising, ie people not willing to pay for their ravaging of society, tax rates should be 90% on the last increment of the super wealthy the way it was when we as america was making billions in profits, thats how we built our roads and dams but thats another subject for another time. We need to focus on the reason crimes are being committed as well, they have no Jobs so they sell crack cocaine, With the communities in control police enforcement will be greater. I encourage people to focus on building Socialist Business in which everyone is paid the same and is in control of the building they work in, they are their own Ceo's. It has worked in Iowa and everyone makes 65000 and they all have medical and vision care. Thats how my company will function, when this happens more people will want to come to a place where they are in control and the quality in the workplace will be amazing= Detroit Recovering

You really think people sell crack because they can't find a job? Why would someone work at a entry level job making 20k a year, when they can sell crack and make thousands a week? Some people will deal drugs no matter what the unemployment rate is.

I didn't Just Mean it like that, I didn't have enough time to go into what you said, which is very true. But If everyone is making 65000 in new businesses, and then they still sell, then and only then should we truly prosecute, Because If there are Jobs and they don't take them they have no ground, a 20,000 salary is a worthless piece of ****. No one wants that, and they don't deserve it when the boss is making millions, upon millions. It goes back to Greed. They say that is the reason, If there are good Jobs and they still refuse to work then by all means they will have no excuse. There is two choices, 1. Legalize all drugs, and teach students in school about proper use so no one gets hurt. (put a tax on Drugs) Release all convicted felons (those in for selling drugs). This will relieve millions of dollars we send to prisons and will allow space for those who deserve to go ie Murderers and Rapists.
2. Ensure Higher wages without increase of cost of goods. Raise the income level from 7.50 to 10.00 an hour, and stop businesses from raising prices (unconstitutional) but Drugs will be Illegal.

Either that or Do what I said before, Give the Community the Power, they know whats needed within the community. Then have the cops where they need to be, making it a little safer.

Why not hook up with some local artists for more illustrations. Might find someone with community spirit to help for free. It's intriguing (and ambitious)!
I had an idea to revive Detroit's Hastings Street as a history-tinged entertainment "district" for tourists and locals (something akin to strips in Memphis or even Greektown). Seems plausible but needs a developer(s).

I can Draw up blue-prints They would need to be looked-over by officials, but I can do Blueprints and design a conceptual Image (imagery) on Google sketchup, If you needed. Sounds like a good Idea. Hastings street aka Black Bottom (due to the soil) used to be a great community, It would be nice to re establish hat community ad redevelop Lafayette Park
