I'm here and my first day in Detroit has been great despite the rain, thunder and lightning. Went to the DIA for the Detroit Revealed exhibit and saw some of the permanent collection as well, but will have to come back, since I didn't have much time. Then tonight the Alvin Ailey performance at the Detroit Opera House. Which was amazing. Looking very forward to the rest of my time here.

Anyone have any thoughts about how easy/difficult it would be to get a taxi after the show at the Royal Oak Music Theathre on Monday, to take me back to Detroit? I would not have minded taking the bus, but at that time there is no straight shot to Detroit and I'm not looking forward to having to transfer at the cemetery/fairgrounds. That seems like a suicide mission to me.
