And something is way wrong with this picture, because Kwame supposedly makes $120,000/year in Texas, but he lives in a mansion that is bigger than the Manoogian Mansion and he and his wife drive his and hers Escalades. $120,000 is pretty good wages, but it won't pay for that.

Did you see the news a couple of nights ago where Kwame's lawyer was arguing that Kwame "has to" live a life of affluence for his job, that it is imperative that he wine and dine his colleagues in fine fashion and that "burgers and beer at the neighborhood tavern" just won't do? Arrogance. Arrogance and stupidity.

Oh, and while we're discussing corrupt politicians, are any of you planning on donating to that charitable fund that Sam Riddle started for himself in which he is seeking donations to help him pay for a lawyer? Gosh, sure makes me want to chip in...LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those of us who know that Detroit, the city, is often seen by outsiders as the same as Detroit, the region, we have a part to play in the Grand Lady's facelift, too. We in the suburbs can do much to foster understanding and tear down the proverbial wall along Eight Mile that divided the citizens of SE Michigan for too long. Outside critics don't appreciate the tenacity, the ingenuity, and the determination of Michiganders. I believe in my heart of hearts that we can turn this around for the city, the region, and the state

: Read your first sentence. Who put up that "eight mile line?"
C. Young.

As near as I can tell, he was actively getting job offers even when he was cooling his heels in jail. When you think of all the qualified people out there who would be grateful to bag groceries for minimum wage right now, while this guy is getting offers for REALLY well-paid jobs, dang, it makes you sick.

If the money Detroit received had been properly used they may still be in financial trouble like every other place in Michigan, but not as deep. Then they elect Kwame and he is worse than Coleman in that he actually believes he is entitled to everything he took, and should never be held accountable for his actions, and collects people around him that feel the same way about themselves. If a normal person did the things the Detroit Clan did they would be in jail and noone would be standing up for them and boohooing about their fate. Treat the rich and powerful the same way the poor are treated, any infractions incarcerate them!

What has been seen with Kwame is nothing new. The corruption in Detroit that has been going on has been going on long before Coleman Young came to the scene, long before WWII. Remember, Detroit was a major bootlegging location during the Prohibition era.

Yeah, corruption and graft were THE political power tools in the city before Coleman Young was a twinkle in his grandfather's eye.

And for some residents, it didn't matter how corrupt the city of Detroit was, life would still be difficult, if you know what I mean.

Saw on the news last night that his appeal was denied and he may in fact be cited for probation violations. Husband thinks the punishment should fit the crime and he should be forced to live in Delray or some other equally appropriate location while he makes restitution.

I'm not sure which punishment would upset Kwame more: having to sit in jail or being forced to wear cheap suits and costume jewelry and drive a used car, lol.
