I just got his book and it is interesting. Although, a real eye opener as far as his diet recommendations. Just curious what people thought.

I've read it. He's a little stricter than I can live with. I'm trying to stick to 100g/day, though I'm probably getting in just under 150g. Overall, I think it's helpful for someone with diabetes to read, he's got a lot of good information/advice. But I think a lot of people may need to modify it to make it something they can live with for the rest of their life.

I started out following Dr Bernstein and was very strict with it for the first year. Once my blood glucose was within fairly normal readings I modified the diet a bit and added a few more carbs such as some fruits (an apple, berries), Ezekiel bread in very limited quantities, etc. I'm a Type 2.

Bernstein works! But it is quite strict. The first three months or so were hardest for me and then it just became a way of life. I've found that eating to my meter works best for me. I still stick with a modified Bernstein tho.

Dr Bernstein has a website and gives monthly webinars/teleconferences and they're great! He'll speak on a subject for a bit, then read and answer previously submitted questions. I try to never miss them. Sign up online and they'll send you a notice of the teleconference/webinar--they're usually held toward the end of each month.

Thanks! I'll look up the webinars/teleconferences. I knew he had a website/forum, though I don't check it very often.
