i started on my diet and Metformin on 09/17. just a little more than 3 weeks later (Thurs) i weighed myself and found i lost about 11-12 lbs (it was a balance scale which is only approximate). the following Mon (just past) i had blood taken again and both my numbers went down - glucose from 137 to 97, A1c from 8.4 to 7.3. 2 days later on Wed (just past) i weighed myself again (just about a week after the last one) and found i lost another 2-3 lbs. that's approx 15 lbs in a month.
i'm not gonna get complacent and assume i don't have a problem anymore but is it really supposed to be this easy? is it at all possible that this whole crap was just a temporary blip in my system?

You're doing great! But sorry, it's not usually a temporary thing or glitch. . Eat a big piece of cake or something carby and you might find yourself back where you started.

It isn't always easy....sometimes Diabetics can suddenly spike if they're ill with even a cold. It depends on the person. And how many beta cells your pancreas has left and whether your cells are responding to the insulin you produce, etc. Diabetes is such an individual thing.

Sounds as if you're doing all the right things. Keep it up!

Sounds like you are doing great so far, so keep on doing what you are doing. Keep an eye on your numbers - I keep a running log in my computer and smartphone not only of my fastings and a1Cs but also of preferred foods and those to avoid. Helps me when I am on the go. I also keep a list of questions in my phone for my next doctor appointment.
