I am curious why you specified "thin people" though, diabetes is a disease that can affect anyone, it is not discriminatory.
What you say about thin is true. I've only been a Type 2 diabetic for a short time. 25 years. During that time I've met pretty near as many never-fat diabetics as fat or once fat diabetics. It's just another stereotype thing. At the time I was diagnosed I was 80 pounds lighter. Never was diagnosed at annual physical. Always pre-diabetic. Another story detailed elsewhere how I finally became being diagnosed as diabetic As far as I'm concerned being pre-diabetic is the the same as being diagnosed as a little bit pregnant.

The disordered metabolism of carbohydrates is not limited to fat people.

Limiting carbs can help most thin people who have type-2 diabetes.
