In April my ac1 was tested it was 6.2. My Dr didn't want to label me as diabetic since I just spent 3 months in bed recovering from mono. The only info he gave me was to make sure all my servings were under 18g of carbs. I had to do allot of research on my own. On 7/22 my levels dropped to 5.6. It doesn't seem like a big drop when you consider most days I only eat 15-18g of carbs all day. Bonus I lost 30 lbs. Is this a good drop in my levels. I really didn't start my low carb diet till about 3rd week of April

According to the Mayo Clinic, for someone who does not have diabetes, a normal A1C level is under 5.7.

I am T2 and tested at 5.2 on my last test in June. I also follow a strict diet. A 5.7 IS diabetic. The 5.7 converts to a 117. Normal blood sugars for non-diabetics is between 79 and 100 (99 is actually the upper limit), which translates to 4.1 to 5.1, The A1c is a 90 day average. I have found that my fasting BG is about the same as my A1c.
