While neuropathy is common in diabetics and can affect the nerves in the face (sweating across the bridge of the nose and cheeks while eating is more common in diabetics) it tends to occur when control is poor and long standing, not as an early finding.
Other common neuropathies affecting the face include Trigeminal Neuralgia (usually extremely painful, not just numbness) and Bell's Palsy (usually seen as a drooping of the "smile muscles" more than a sensory thing). Also to be considered are dental problems or TMJ or even mass lesions inside the skull irritating nerves.... or an early sign of shingles or herpetic cold sores(if the rash appears, you'll know, but it doesn't always appear)
Chances are it's nothing we can or need to find. If it progresses in severity, duration or starts to include other symptoms or areas of involvement, then see you doc.
