I'm not adverse to taking herbal supplements but I only do so after I thoroughly researched them plus use a drug interaction site to make sure that they don't clash with any of my prescription meds.
That's too bad he had that reaction. I always research any possible drug interactions before taking a supplement.

In addition to my A1C coming down after taking the Bittler Melon, Berberine and R-Lipoic
Acid, my morning numbers (really a noon test) dropped about 20-30 points per day. THAT was huge for me and told me it was working with my diet.

I wish I could take berberine. Tried multiple times and gave me horrible bowel movements with even just ONE capsule!

It helps a lot of folks, tho'

I order GTF Chromium (glucose tolerance factor) from The Vitamin Shoppe and take one a day. You also can find it in their stores.

We take cinnamon. What we found out was that the most effective form of it is "Ceylon Cinnamon". We take that now. Hard to say if it helps much.

I put cinnamon, curcumin, and pepper in my coffee every morning, hoping but not sure it's helping.

That is my experience as well. However, I DO find that taking two cloves capsules before bed with a bit of apple cidar vinegar diluted in water helps a lot. The brand is Kroeger.
