My husband tried taking berberine but it gave him diarrhea. Since I have IBS-D, after he told me that, I didn't even try it. As another poster said---and I second it---if it works for you without any problems, I say "good"!
I'm not adverse to taking herbal supplements but I only do so after I thoroughly researched them plus use a drug interaction site to make sure that they don't clash with any of my prescription meds.
That's too bad he had that reaction. I always research any possible drug interactions before taking a supplement.

That is my experience as well. However, I DO find that taking two cloves capsules before bed with a bit of apple cidar vinegar diluted in water helps a lot. The brand is Kroeger.
