Firstly thanks for posting Okiegirlfriend,

When it comes to Type- I diabete's i'm always interested in the research as there is no cure and especially not by taking Alka Seltzer to cure it like some claim on these forums. However when it comes to Type II diabete's we just don't need science to cure this as we can put it in total regression ourselves by just Diet and Exercise.

I've seen it so many times over the years in the fitness industry in numerous articles in bodybuilding and fitness magazines and in person in the gyms as i've met tons of people over these years who've had this disease and other diseases including Cardiovascular, Certain Cancers and even Multiple Sclerosis who reversed their diseases with a radical change in diet and exercise.

Yeah, I hear ya! Personally, I wish they would concentrate on finding a cure for Type I. The fact is there are more Type II diabetics and the complications are greater for them. I've been waiting for a cure for 52 years and I guess I'll continue to wait. In the mean time, I'll do all I can do to take care of myself.

I've been reading over the last several years that Stem Cells are really moving forward in research and clinical trials to try to cure Type-1 Diabete's and so keep the faith .

A cure?...lol Dont hold your breath. The ADA is a joke. They just filter all their donations to pharm companies who are not looking for cures.

The study is a promising avenue of research into the cause of Type II which is usually expressed as insulin resistance. If the pathway they identified can be stimulated by a pill, I would likely happily pay for a prescription. As a diabetic, I see this as one of the more hopeful developments, and the participants in the study are quite impressive.

I have traveled to Boston many times to both the BI and to the Joslin Diabetes Clinic which is across the street. I have had T2 diabetes for 30 years with minimal problems thanks to both of them.

I agree. The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) is the only one worth giving to if one is interested in supporting research to cure T1.

ADA on the other hand, has been evolving (deteriorating actually) into a poster organization for wasted charitable donations and 501c3 status (huge overhead and endless propaganda for the medical supplies industry) for the past 30 years or so.
