High BS is slow death to your heart, kidneys etc. just like an over inflated tire waiting to blow out! 300 is way to high on a regular basis but 600 is call the the mortician to get him ready for you.

To much drama for ya? Well this post ain't nothin' compared to what awaits you if you don't get your BS under control quick.

John, don't take any of the common cold medications that are available, they contain a lot of sugars and alcohol, which converts into starch and sugar. There are cold medications for diabetics that do not contain any sugars, and they're available at any drug store.

330 is definitely way too high, you want to keep the glucose levels around no higher than 150. Also be careful with the insulin dosage, you don't want the glucose levels to drop too low.

What type of insulin(s) are you taking?

I take three Novolog insulin pen shots a day and one Lantus SoloStar pen at night. Insulin units are between 8-14 for each shot depending on my BG level.

Thanks, John

What do your reading say after eating? You may need to test more often - if your sugars are too high an hour after a meal you may need to give more insulin before a meal or eat less.

You may need to have an endocrinologist and or a diabetes educator help you get a firmer grip on your sugar levels.

Women also know when they are ovulating, because are readings are higher than normal.

My BG has been lower today and last day or so. Been around 150-200 which is good for me and I've been sick with a cold my doctor has told me.

John
Please refer to the top most quote 'cause you still got work to do to get your BG in the safe range 'cause there is no "good ,or normal, for me" in diabetes.
