This is the benefit of living in an older neighborhood (sidewalks) and in a temperate climate. There probably are only a handful of days, winter or summer, where the temperature alone will keep me from walking outdoors.

I seem to have a threshhold of about 20 degrees in winter, and 80 in summer. Most summer mornings I'm up and out the door by 6, before the world heats up.

Rainy, hot or cold days, and I'll be in the gym! I'm not that tough ...

10 years? I have been off and on to the gym longer then that and you can definably burn a 1000 calories in an hour. It all depends on who you are, male or female, fat or thin, in good shape or in bad shape, how hard you are working, how fast you are running, how much you weigh...
I mean, just because you can't do it does not mean others can't. If you really been working out for 10 years you should know this by now.

I try to break up my training into two or three parts during the day so I dont spend too much time at once in the gym (if/when I go to the gym).

Time breaks down as follows:

AM Cardio - No more than 30 minutes. I'll do my 3.25 mile run with HIIT included or 30 minute jump rope routine. Usually performed outside but occasionally at the gym.

Afternoon workout - 45 minutes MAX. Most likely will be a Crossfit "Workout Of The Day" which can be completed in as little as 5 minutes (not including warmup) or as long as 30 minutes. Or, will be a HIT whole body weight routine.

Evening Workout - Can be anywhere from 1-3 hours of martial arts training/practice/teaching.

I would get bored in any gym if Im there more than an hour. That is, if Im not taking any specific class.

I do get bored. But I do look at doing some of the stuff around the house as a workout too. Then again anything with a 31lb 3 yr old and a 16lb kirby will give one a small workout. haha!

According to this calculator: Calorie Calculator, Calories Burned, Calories Do Count there are many exercises that can burn over 1,000 calories / hour....depending on how heavy you are and how hard you have to work.

If it's accurate and you're in shape and say 170 lbs, it's going to be pretty tough to burn that many calories / hour.

It's been interesting, as I've lost weight and gotten in better shape I've ramped up the exercise I do, roughly comparable to what that calculator indicates for a similar calorie burn.

What is so unheard of about this? I burn 1000 cals at the gym easy in an hour. I also have a decent amount of muscle mass and do vigorous exercise. Plus, I'm a big boy meaning I need more energy to move my ass around.

45 minutes a day 5 days/week. All I need to get a nice run in and do weight training on my arms and legs.

Usually my time is about an hour or two hours....The other day I did an hour and a half of cardio back-to-back. Im proud of myself.

And, how long will it take me to burn off the 1 1/2 portobello mushroom burgers I just chomped down?

Whole grain bread, potobello mushroom caps, tomato, worschester (soaked in it for a minute), and a tiny pinch of Kosher salt.

I feel fat after eating them, so I'll probably do the 2 hour route.
There are sites where you can check the calories in restaurant & fast food (mostly fast food).

CalorieKing - Diet and weight loss. Calorie Counter and more

Nutrition facts, calories in food, labels, nutritional information and analysis – NutritionData.com

I believe there was a site about the calories in better-restaurant entrees, but I can't think of it now... I may be even confused and might think of the site offering the recipes for these entrees.

Off the top of my hat I can just say it'll take a lot of sweat to get that burger out!
