oh and i CAN NOT eat oatmeal by it's self. somethin' has to be in it for me to eat it. i just can't take the texture of it alone. i like it more now then back in the day.
Juicing! My whole life I've never really liked veggies, but I'd buy them in a half-hearted attempt to get myself to try them. They'd usually go to waste in the frig.
About 2 months ago, I bought a juicer and now use it every day.
I make all kinds of fresh juice.
Carrot-apple-ginger.
Tomato, carrot, spinach + a jalapeno pepper.
And Fresh grapefruit that tastes much better than anything store-bought.
I experiment all the time. The best thing is you can sneak in spinach and other veggies into the mix, and not even taste them in there! Apples and carrots mask the taste of the greens.
I've consumed more veggies in the past 2 months than I ever have.
One thing to keep in mind is that there may be good reason as to why you don't like certain foods. Our subconscious protects us and the reason you may not like a food is because you have an allergy to it in certain amounts, or it could be a trigger for a migraine, etc. So, it is possible that your body could be protecting you by making certain foods unappealing. Granted, if you are talking about how you like Hostess Cupcakes and not celery or other healthy foods then it could be more of a mind over matter type of thing. There are so many different ways to fix foods that there are recipes out there that could make what used to be the most horrible food the yummiest ever.
There are many foods that I didn't like growing up that I now love.
Beans make me gag and throw up. just now i gagged and said "I'm eating ice cream. I'm eating ice cream" I put the spoon of beans in my mouth, and spit it back out. And i couldnt go play unless i ate the beans. to me they're just gross. i cant stand them. what should i do
[quote=Kathleen1971;16441914]Eww lol. Where is that vomit icon when you need it?
I know I am weird though when it comes to chocolate. I can handle a bite or two during that time of the month but honestly I just do not see the appeal at all.
Kyle maybe your Mom would let you put some grated cheese on them and melt it in the microwave. Then you wouldn't taste them so much.
I like your status line, I hope it's soon.
You know you're supposed to be 16 to be on this forum, right?

my brother is asking how you could change asparagus to make it good. Any ideas? i personally love asparagus, but it makes my brother puke. And my brother also has the same problem as me with beans. Any other ideas?
If you only hate a few foods that is fine and normal. You can eat fruits OR veggies and really veggies are more ideal if you tend to gain. Its really only a problem if you are eating a bunch of junk in place of what is healthy.
I personally only like asparagus if I grew it myself. The store stuff is so bitter and disgusting to me.
There will be a good batch every once in awhile but its not worth the risk to me.

I take the asparagus and trim off the tough ends, place them on a baking sheet and drizzle them with olive oil, salt and pepper and roast them on 400 degrees for 20 minutes. Only use fresh asparagus not canned or frozen.

Excellent advice. I love roasted asparagus. I also like to use my grill pan and and cook them that way with a drip of olive oil and salt and pepper. My kids even love it that way! You can also just cut off a little bit at the ends and then use a peeler to take off the rough part, allowing you to use more of the veggie.
