In summary of all these posts, so you don't lose track:
Low fat is helpful IF the rest of your eating habits are healthy and balanced. However, you might find it more useful to reduce (not eliminate) carbohydrates, enjoy the "healthy" fats (such as omega 3 - tuna, olive oil, etc. etc.) while skipping the "less healthy" fats (such as palm oil and partially hydrogenated ANYTHING).. keep your fiber intake decent, but have it come mostly from veggies and a limited amount of fresh fruit every day rather than overdoing it on breads or other processed grains. And try to limit your dairy intake, and remember that eggs are NOT dairy. They're poultry, and a great source of protein.
And make sure you exercise, a combination of moderate strength training, plus aerobic for your heart and calorie burning.
