If he actually comes back and follows my advice he will be decreasing his carbs and upping his protein, but he won't be doing any of your disproven genotype ****. I'll have him following a proven diet with real world application that will have him looking good in no time.

You're wrong. THIS is the best advice on this thread:

Eat 1 double scoop of chocolate almond fudge ice cream, topped with marshmallow topping and 2 cherries, every Monday for breakfast.

For lunch, have 1 regular sized hershey bar, and wash it down with 6 ounces of regular Dr. Pepper, with exactly 1 ice cube.

At suppertime, have a 12-ounce porterhouse steak, with sauteed mushrooms, 1 cup of mashed potatoes with butter and sour cream, and an individual portion of chocolate lava cake for dessert.

On Tuesday, have the same thing, but change the ice cream to plain vanilla, with no toppings.

Wednesday, switch the ice cream to blueberry sherbet with raspberry sauce, and the porterhouse steak to a baked stuffed 1.5 pound lobster.

Thursday, same as Monday.

Friday, same as Wednesday, but switch the lobster to 2 cups linguine and grilled chicken strips with alfredo sauce.

Saturday, eat nothing at all, drink only prune juice.

Sunday, have prune juice, water, and a hot-fudge sundae with coffee ice cream, and only 1 cherry.

Follow this diet exactly for 6 months. It's guaranteed to change your life!

Op this has helped me:

- low carb diet
- eating more vegetables
- using artificial sweetness for coffee/tea
- baking with almond flour
- no bread, no pasta, no potatoes, no rice, no milk
- eat vegetables with cheese or mayo if don't like the taste
- oils, cheese, half and half, heavy cream in moderation

I do cheat a little but only with things I really like and that are not extremely unhealthy. I probably drink too much half and half and I probably shouldn't be eating almond flour baked goods every day. I also eat rice sometimes but only about 2 tablespoons(very small portion). You get the idea I watch my carbs and it helps me lose and maintain my weight.

I recommend it. You don't have to count your calories and feel like you're starving. Once you control your blood sugar level your food cravings will be gone.

If I had to critique your list there, I'd say you'll have more success if you can wean yourself off the artificial sweeteners. Those can stall weight loss and maintain a desire for sweets. Also, heavy cream is actually better for you than half and half, which has sugar.

You have to cheat sometimes. There is no way in hell I could just eat only good for you things every day 24/7/365. I'd rather be dead, literally. The key is moderation, which is also one of the hardest things to do.

BTW, vegetables with mayo sounds absolutely repulsive, but to each their own

I can't do that. Maybe other people can. This works for me. If I don't eat sweets I couldnt stay on this diet. I use 1 pocket for my tea and 1 1/2 for my cake.

Use real honey instead of synthetic sweetener in your tea. Around 1.5 teaspoons to get the same "sweetness" as the single packet of sweetener. Tastes better, has actual nutritional value other than calories, and has built-in health benefits.

If you avoid sweets for awhile you won't miss them. You'll actually start tasting the subtle sweetness that naturally occurs in foods. To kick the sugar habit over the long haul it's most effective to get rid of the crutches.

How about asparagus with hollandaise? There are plenty of options that will keep you low carb without resorting to unpalatable food combinations. Moderation leads to forgetfullness and failure. People are perfectly capable of moderating their way to obesity.

Posts like these are sickening. You get posters telling you to eliminate major food staples (dairy, grains, carbohydrates, and the like). This obesity crisis this country is facing has only really been a major issue for the past twenty years.

Prior to that, people ate regular, balanced meals. Some exercised regularly, some didn't. People didn't drink soy milk, eat organic tofu, eliminate pasta, and eliminate sugar in the name of health. People just didn't eat gigantic plates of food, go back for seconds, eat a whole cake in one sitting, eat a pint of ice cream, and then down two blenders full of frozen cocktails for a mid-morning snack. People knew you had to balance things out. You had a reasonably size steak, some mashed potatoes, some vegetables, and a glass of water. You then would have a nice slice of pie for dessert, maybe two, to go with your cup of coffee.

People have absolutely no sense now. They eat 10,000 calories daily and wonder why they can't lose weight, and then wonder how people who eat reasonably can maintain their diets. It's not that hard, folks!

Also, tell your kids to stop playing World of Warcraft and get them outside. Go on bike rides, buy some street chalk and have them play hopscotch, buy a rope and do some double dutch. Something. Stop abusing your kids by funneling junk down their throats while watching TV.

Stop with these ridiculous fad diets and use common sense. These fads are ridiculous and dangerous. Your body is not a living experiment. Get it together, now.
