You can get yourself to use less butter and salt that you would like to, but nobody is going to eat a plain baked potato.
Hey, I discovered something absolutely delicious recently.

Not sure if you have an Asian market or grocery store anywhere around you, but if you do, and if you like sweet potatoes, get thee to the market and buy some asian yams!

Honestly, they are so freaking sweet and tender (baked) and so loaded with flavor, that I don't put ANYTHING on them - not even salt!

I wouldn't have believed it till I tried it - but I promise, they're that good.

When I cook potatoes, to eat by themselves, I add a very small amount oil to get the herbs to stick and to prevent them from sticking to the pan. Around 1 teaspoon for 2 medium potatoes does the trick.
Right on - and olive oil, coarse sea salt and some fresh ground pepper, along with maybe some Italian herbs, dresses up a baked potato very nicely!

The thread is about low carbs so I thought I would mention that Asian yams are unusually high in carbs, 57 grams! It's a whole food so as a treat if you have already reached your goal would be okay but I did want to mention this. A regular sweet potato has about 20 grams and a yam has about 23. That is a huge difference. It's probably why you love them!
