Here is one of the side effects of statin drugs.....Sounds pretty poisonous to me...
"Rhabdomyolysis, extreme muscle inflammation and damage. With this condition, muscles all over the body become painful and weak. The severely damaged muscles release proteins into the blood that collect in the kidneys. The kidneys can become damaged trying to eliminate a large amount of muscle breakdown caused by statin use. This can ultimately lead to kidney failure or even death. Fortunately, rhabdomyolysis is extremely rare. It occurs in less than one in 10,000 people taking statins."
of course, we all remember VIOXX, I don't think I need to post any links for that one.

Yes, lots of pharmaceuticals have potentially dangerous side effects. That one right there - occurs in less than one in 10,000 people taking statins. It's extremely rare. It says so right in the quote you so kindly included.
Here's one for green tea. Same source: WebMD:

It can cause side effects because of the caffeine. These side effects can range from mild to serious and include headache, nervousness, sleep problems, vomiting, diarrhea, irritability, irregular heartbeat, tremor, heartburn, dizziness, ringing in the ears, convulsions, and confusion. Green tea seems to reduce the absorption of iron from food. Drinking very high doses of green tea can actually be fatal. The fatal dose of caffeine in green tea is estimated to be 10-14 grams (150-200 mg per kilogram). Serious toxicity can occur at lower doses.
Prior to the 20th century people ate considerably more fat in their diet than they do now, and heart disease rates were very low.
But that isn't the case, prior to the 20th century people's diet was mostly composed of starches....all of which are low fat. The high meat, and hence high fat, diets people have today were made possible with economic advancement. Same can be said of high fat processed foods (which are mostly unsaturated fat), they weren't consumed back then either.
As for as the link between saturated fat and heart disease, there is decades of research supporting this link. The only thing that has changed is the idea that saturated fat is the worst for you...
Yes of course. And lets not forget that the USDA food guidelines are a scam. A giant conspiracy to get us to eat all the wrong stuff.
Funny.....the power this has huh? By all means....read about who controls the USDA. Where they use to work before they were part of the USDA. Where they work after they leave the USDA.
Heck, don't you think its strange for the United States Department of Agriculture to setup dietary guidelines in the first place?
