Funny, I used to be quite slender in my 20's to early 30's, did WW and was able to keep my weight down to around 116 to 118 (at most) at 5'4". I am much much older now, and much much heavier! I have done WW 9 times and quit within a month because I couldn't tolerate it, was starving feeling all the time, and I find I can't stand to cut back on my eating no matter what.
Any ideas? I have wondered why I feel unable to tolerate feeling hungry. I need to feel full. I am emotionally stable as a person and have a good life with the normal stresses but nothing really bad.
I just can't stand to cut back on eating!
I gave up on Weight Watchers now because I know I can't do it.

You could be feeling this because of what you're eating, rather than how much you're eating. If you're eating a lot of starches and sugars, then yes, you'll continue feeling hungry, more often. If you're eating all your nutrition in a single meal, then yes, you might be feeling more hungry, more often. Metabolisms don't stay the same, especially for females who go through some significant hormonal changes throughout their lives (and even once a month for some decades).
Create a food log, or use one of the online logs (I use myfitnesspal but there are many others and most of them are free). Use one that calculates the protein, carbs, fats, sodium, etc, so you can see at the end of the day *exactly* what you're consuming.
You might surprise yourself and discover you're overloading on starch, and not eating nearly enough fiber or protein.

You CAN cut back IF YOU WANT TO. It is uncomfortable at first because your body is adjusting to consuming a lower amount of food which means your stretched stomach that has been stretched from eating too much for a long period of time is adjusting as well and shrinking back to it's normal size.
The choices are live with the discomfort for a week or so or continue to eat as you do and gain more weight.

If this was true, then a lot more than 5% of people who challenged themselves for more than a couple of weeks by "eating healthy" or "making wise eating decisions" or "making better choices" or "developing better eating habits", wouldn't be putting the weight back on.
"Drink more water". And while your at it, cut back on carbs, calories, and junk food. Throw in 30-60 minutes of daily exercise, make wise eating decisions, weigh your food, and write down every calorie in a journal.

This is nonsense. I mean zero basis in reality.
If you're undereating and you're waiting for your stomach to "shrink back to it's [sic] normal size," you're going to be waiting a long time.

Martha I am 5.4 and I have spent most of my life at 114 -117 lbs. I am now 51 and 125lbs and fit and have come to realize with age comes a different body. The key to WW which I have done successfully is to eat foods that satiate you. Nuts, avocado, lean meats, complex carbs are great for that. Try not to think about quantity, but quality. Yes, you have to eat less of those foods, but they fill you up much more effectively. Also drink lots of water. A big glass of water right before and right after a meal will really help with feeling full. Don't give up. And exercise!
