I need to lose 70lbs and have no idea how to accomplish that goal, on paper it looks easy, just dont eat so much, however if it was that easy many millions of N.Americans wouldnt be obese, i've tried dozens of diets and learned none of them work.
I always thought giving up smoking was the toughest thing i ever did, childsplay compared to successfully losing weight,
We got away from processed white flour items and sugar on our trip to Japan. When we returned, we cleaned out the kitchen and went on Weight Watchers. I have lost around 16 and husband almost 20. It works out to about a pound or more a week consistently.
We also joined a college gym and are working out at least 5 days a week. Each of us has over 35 pounds to go for our first goal. Will reevaluate then.
Lots of greek 0 fat yoghurt, fruits, veggies and limited carbs. We still eat out but so much less than before and carefully chosen. Husband loves his fruit smoothies (equal parts fruit, ice and fat free yoghurt blended to death). Almost no snacks and no junk foods. I put all kinds of things on my salad greens. Today we warmed up an Indian chicken dish with sauce and on greens it was delicious. Added a hard boiled egg to up the protein.
This kind of eating has eliminated almost all my hunger pains in between meals. I used to get a sugar low in the middle of the afternoon and that is gone.
In a perfect world I'd be 40 pounds less. I've never been that low though. I'm currently more focused on strength than weight loss. I just joined a crossfit gym and I've been constantly sore since joining.
I too am focused on strength training rather than weight loss. It gives you a feeling of powerfulness, and ensures that the weight you do lose is your fat, not your muscle. In a perfect world, I would be happy losing 10 pounds though.

Yeah. I need to focus on something other than just the number on the scale or I start to go a little crazy. I can definitely see why people who try crossfit like it. I've only gone to the actual gym a few times but I'm already faster and stronger than I was 2 weeks ago. It's actually amazing how quickly you can gain strength.
I have basically 105 pounds to lose. Can't go to the gym. Can't get outside until it cools down. Slowly working on moving more in the house. Will be getting back onto WW At Home soon.
I am short but too thin if I go by the traditional charts for my height so I would like to lose enough to bet to the weight that is good for me which is 130 - 140.
