I was so gung ho starting @ the end of December. I quit drinking soda altogether, worked out hard daily and stuck with my cals. Fast forward to Mid Feb and I lost my way. Not making excuses, but personal stuff in my life made me turn to soda and chocolate again, and I went down to 2 workouts a week, not much effort. I now feel totally defeated. I only had 15 more pounds to lose and now I feel like it's never going to happen.

eh, no worries, get right back on the wagon and move forward but don't be so restrictive.
I eat candy everyday but I account for it in my daily food consumption.
Tomorrow is a new day and a couple pops and some chocolate is not going to put you over the proverbial edge of no return.

Just start over, as simple as that. Just don't totally throw in the towel and do nothing, just pick up from where you left off and press on.

I feel like I can't be as hard core as some people on this site, I mean who knows if they are truthful. I built my whole self esteem on the number I wanted to see on the scale and that didnt work long term.

Just stop it. I have a couple of obese fat friends who always make excuses about "Oh, stuff happened and I got depressed so I needed (insert fatty crappy food here) to make me feel better".

Exercise is the BEST cure for depression/anxiety/sadness. Don't give in to soda chocolate because that stuff will kill you.

Just stick with it.

I am drinking lots of water per day, no coffee, no soda, no fruit juice, although I use a bit of OJ, cherry juice or pomegranate juice as the base of my green veggie/fruit blended drinks.

Since you're working out, reward yourself after the workout with a high glycemic simple carb, but when not working out, try to keep your carbs complex and low glycemic.

I eat a piece of dark chocolate about every other day.

I've figured my ideal maintenance calories to be 2730 based on my weight age and height. To lose fat and maintain muscle, I'm looking to cut my calories 20% or to 2184 per day or 730 per meal. So I figured my protein calories to be 710 per day or 230 per meal or 58 grams per meal, far including mainly good fats some saturated and no trans to be 165 calories per meal or 18 grams per meal and the rest carbs. So that's 340 calories per meal or 85 grams per meal.

With the carbs, I'm aiming for mostly low glycemic complex carbs, but after a good workout, I'll reward myself with some pasta, rice, or maybe some whole wheat bread or some Kind cereal.

I'll let you all know how this works.

You're doing great. Finding a healthier lifestyle is a gradual transition, not a cold turkey one. It's a learning process. You have to find out what works for you without the constant need to force yourself to do or leave certain things.

Also the number of the scale is pretty meaningless. There's a certain weight you are destined to have when you are healthy and you're really not going to defy or tweak that number by eating less or more. (You can try but do you really want to be obsessive about what you eat for the rest of your life?)

Good advice, thanks!
