Hi!

A quick question, have ever tried to track your personal stats to get motivated? How many chocolate bars you eat per day/week/month or similar activities? And if you have, what tool do use to collect and analyze your data? Any help would be greatly appreciated

An app on my phone called my fitness pal.

I actually can't remember the last time I had a candy bar. I do enter a Starbucks Mocha latte in it every day, however. It also keeps weight, bmi, etc.

I'll second My Fitness Pal as a way to keep track of what you eat.

My Fitness Pal didn't work well for me, so I'm using Cron-o-meter. Free to use online, there's an inexpensive iPad app, probably one for iPhone & Android, too. Tracks weight and other biometrics, supports notes, has food database plus you can add your own foods & recipes.

excel worksheet, and I measure myself oncea week under identical conditions (the morning of a workout day, while fasted). I take measurements around the biceps (flexed, extended arm), chest, upper/middle/lower stomach, and thighs.

Tells you more then the scale ever will. And I keep track of what I eat too, but I do that mentally (not eating 6-8 meals a day makes this easy).

http://www.fatsecret.com/ -- thought I haven't used in a while I used it last year to lose 10 lbs. Allows you to log in daily activity (aka calories used) and food consumed (calories intake broken down by carbs, protein, fats, etc). Very easy to use.

MFP works the best for me because I can track it on my phone, which is usually nearby and if it's not, I can use the computer. They also have fairly active forums and subgroups if you're interested in certain things.

I used it to lose ~40-42 pounds and since December, I've used it to maintain.

However, I do eat a lot of junk. ;-) That junk fits into my maintenance calories though.

I don't think, however, you can analyze the things you want with the App.
