Resveratrol in the diet is no help at all, study says*-*Los Angeles Times

Not a day goes by when what you were told could do this or that can't do much at all.

We have people running around trying to avoid Gluten when most people don't even know what it is. Others swear off diary yet previous generations consumed it and lived well into their late 80s and 90s.

Moderation is key and most everything else is a fad used to empty the wallets and purses of the gullible.

Moderation, choosing healthy foods, portion size and exercise is just so unglamorous for folks. They need to seek out the latest B.S. diet trend. Sacrifice, dedication and a will to change the way one eats is passé.

I could not agree more. It is just unbelievable some of the crazy eating plans and diets out there that are being pushed. Some of them are really cults, IMO. I eat what I want in moderation, even as a diabetic. I pretty much have stopped almost all heavily processed foods, however.

If you're diabetic, you aren't eating in moderation (maybe compared to SAD = moderately SAD), and shouldn't be putting down other peoples' way of eating. (Hmmmm, maybe that's why you do).

Dairy - It may not kill you on it's own, but it's un-natural for adults of any species to drink. Anyone putting down a non-dairy diet is bringing emotion into their view.

Actually you are completely wrong and I know for a fact you are completely wrong.
My husband is diabetic and friends whom I cook for often are diabetic and they all can eat anything and everything I serve in moderation because every item is accounted for in their daily dietary plan.
The reason I know this is because I give them the menu before the event and they plan that particular day around the menu. Obviously I cook for my husband so I already know what his plan for that day is.

Unless you have first hand experience with being diabetic or preparing numerous meals for a diabetic you should not be putting down other people's way of eating.

I believe Sacman is insulting gypsychick (and everyone else who has diabetes) by assuming that all diabetes is caused by eating a Standard American Diet. Of course that's nonsense, untrue, and ridiculous, but yeah that's what he's saying.

Disregard Sacman and his advice. He is really out there which what he thinks is a healthy diet.

The development of type 2 diabetes is highly related to ones diet.......it use to be pretty rare disease. I think what they are suggesting is that if one is suffering from a disease that is highly related to how one eats then, perhaps, you should take what they say with a grain of salt.

In any case, "in moderation" is meaningless and you won't find such recommendations made by nutrition professionals. Instead they make concrete recommendations on healthful eating.

gypsychick didn't say what kind of diabetes she has. She didn't say whether or not she's obese. She didn't say whether or not her diabetes is now under control as a result of her food choices, exclusively.

Sacman is doing what he always does. Prosthelitizes HIS way of eating (which is an exclusive raw juice diet), and criticizing anyone who is unhealthy, if they haven't been doing HIS way of eating.
