I saw an interview with Miranda Lambert when she was heavier and she said she was a size 6. There is no way. She is 5'4. I would guess she was about a 12 then. She never looked huge or anything but she was a bigger girl and a 6 is small.

I agree. I am over 5'8" and am at the exact proper weight for my height. I need size 12 on top and 8 or 10 on the bottom. I am built like a swimmer with broad shoulders and back and a large bust as well. My frame would never be anything smaller than an 8, and that would be if I were emaciated which I have no interest in being. People who make blanket statements about sizing are showing their ignorance.

My granddaughter was just here for her 18th birthday, and she is about 5'8" and still takes a size 0. She would be fat if she were a size ten, because she is so small boned.

It's a self-esteem crushing war on females of all ages in the name of the almighty dollar. Those who sell, profit on insecurity. I wish I had understood that as a teen girl -- please teach your girls to ignore the advertisements and celebrity media & find worth within.

People say stupid things like a size 8 or 10 is heavy. Either they are just plain hateful and hypocrites because they themselves are probably out of shape and just want to think someone else is worse off then they are, or if they are a Size ) they think they are all that.

Humans will continue to judge others like the cover of a book.

Maybe she doesn't look big to you because the 10 is draping over her very big and she should go down a size or two, and realize she's not big.

That's an odd assumption. I'm 135, 5' 5", pear shaped and a size 8/10. No draping or saggy pants. Not a freak of nature. It's completely possible.

I'm 6'1". When I was young and very thin, I was a size 12. I always said my skeleton is a size 10!

I've never actually heard anyone say a size 8 or 10 is heavy. I would have laughed.

In The Devil Wears Prada, however, size 6 is referred to as big.

I've never heard anyone say size 8 or 10 is heavy. If you hear that, my advice to you is to find better friends.

Sometimes people say that kind of stuff because they're jealous.

I blame it on vanity sizes. I couldn't even tell you what a size 8 looks like, because each brand/store seems to have their own idea of what an 8 is. I can believe Miranda Lambert wore a size 6 at some stores when she was heavy. I am short and when I looked heavy, I was in a baggy size 4, because the cloths were just made big.

When I was cleaning out my aunts closet I saw some older cloths. A size 6 was tiny in the 1980's. Too small for me and I was a size "4".
