OK, so a reality check about a week ago when I got turned down for private health insurance. I still have Blue Cross but wanted a lower cost alternative.
What the doctor reported I had not seen and I looked up the terms. I'm determined to do it right if it takes month, get the weight off, change habits, etc.
Most of my nieces and nephews are in their 20's and tonight we had our family party. Tons of old family pictures were passed around; some of which were 22-25 years ago.
Comments made to me were rather encouraging from this group. One of my nieces offered to go grocery shopping and help do better meal planning. One of the others told me not to give up that I used to be a fox. (I had to laugh since she herself is a pharma rep and fits the stereotype - I would not even think I would be in her category! - but it was nice to hear!)
So, talk about motivation from an unlikely source!
I have 45 more pounds to lose and I'll do it slowly and I will change habits as I'm learning the hard way.
Getting this doctor's report was an eye opener. The doctor did indicate that if I lost the weight, everything would be reversed. So, that's my goal.
I am struggling. I try to get focused on eating right, or the right portions, and the right foods, etc. I eat breakfast and lunch and then my friend says hey, let's go to sushi. Sure! That's only about 1200 calories of salmon! Can't say no to 1200 calories of salmon for only $16.95!
Christmas cookies, homemade? Yes, please! Egg nog? Come on, it's Christmas! You get the gist. It's all about choices, decisions, remembering what we want. We can't have it all. We can plan, get derailed or we can plan and stay on plan.
I have about 20 or so more pounds to lose. It's taken me over a year to lose 25. I've pretty much budged. I have lost 8 pounds in 2015.

Where is this salmon coming from that it is 1200 calories? Next time you go to sushi order sashimi, stay away from anything tempura and go easy on the rice or avoid it if you can.

You can say no to 1200 calories of salmon, you can say no to homemade cookies and egg nog.
You choose to say yes, *you get the gist*...
Your problem is not the salmon but your portion control, which I may add is out of control.
You say potAYtow, I say poTAHtow.
