The theory is that is makes a barrier between the implant and the body which resists bacteria and allows for your body to accept the dental implant because it is from your own body. For me this must have worked as I had zero issues with them.

I was reading where they are using PRP on people with bad joints. That to me is quite a break through as it sounds that it really helps. Great information for those who might want to talk to their doctor's about it.

To get the PRP they first withdraw a vial of your blood. They put this blood in a centrifuge that spins the platelets apart from the blood. It is very sticky and rich. This is still in learning stages but to find something that would work that comes from our own bodies sounds amazing!

I have arthritic knees and this sounds amazing

I had never heard of the PRP for the dental issue. But I know about PRP and joint regeneration. The MD gives no guarantee and one has to have out of pocket funds to do this. If funds were not my issue, I would have done PRP a while ago for knee and ankle FOR SURE. I wasn't born wealthy and will go out the same way...comfortable enough but not a lot extra for treatments like PRP...Unless our medical insurance world changes.

This is a gluten comment. My grandgirl is 19 and has struggled with acne for probably 4-5 yrs...she's taken meds, done laser therapy, peels etc..you name it. She's decided to eliminate Gluten majorally and she can't believe how great her skin is now. We were just talking and she is one happy camper...and she says the bloating is so reduced.

I've cut out a lot of gluten but not 100%. I bring no bread into my house for about 7 yrs....don't miss it for a second.

There is such a thing as gluten intolerance. I have a friend who has many food sensitivities, including gluten. I can attest to the fact that she farts less when gluten-free. LOL

My father loves the diet by Dr. Gott (no refined flour, no sugar). It really does bring the weight off.

I'm down 10 pounds since I started counting calories and cutting out certain foods 3 weeks ago. I'm not going strictly "whites" free, but I've cut bread out of my diet at home and have basically abandoned pizza and pasta (formerly dietary staples) as well as anything classified as a dessert item (ice cream, cake, candy, cookies, etc.)

I'm still letting myself have fast food on weekends, but I have certain "planned ahead" meals that I know the exact calories for and adjust accordingly. It's also the only time I eat bread. I will probably phase that out eventually, but really, it's a convenience issue.

So I'll go to Wendy's and have a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger and a baked potato, or to Smashburger for a black bean burger and sweet potato fries. I'll go to Chipotle and order one of their rice bowls with brown rice and all the salsas and no sour cream (but will include cheese and guacamole) and eat half of it. When I go to Smashburger or Chipotle, that's my big meal of the day and everything else is just snacking.

I'll put sugar or honey on certain things too. And I still use BBQ sauce. But I've basically eliminated the biggest sugar bombs from my diet by cutting out desserts, pizza and pasta. Without those, I have few problems staying within my calorie ration for the day.

I've had the same experience. No gluten = Clear skin, better mood, no bloat. I know many people don't believe me when I tell them how much better I feel without gluten, but it is true.

Of course, I do occasionally miss bread, but the longer I go without it, the less I miss it.

Interestingly enough when you go for a PET scan for cancer the technicians give you a sugar IV because the cancer is attracted to the sugar. I have cut out almost all processed sugar (I allow myself a small dessert once a week) and eliminated white pasta, white bread and white potatoes and I quit snacking after dinner except for a piece of fruit. I also cut down on my portions. I've lost 15 pounds just doing this. I haven't felt deprived at all and I actually can't eat a huge meal anymore. I also quit smoking in October of last year.

I am joining a gym this week also as I want to lost an additional 20-25 pounds, firm up and strengthen this body. It's been through a lot in the last 5 years.

I'm no fan of processed foods and added sugar, but people don't seem to realize this one simple fact. When you cut out a certain type of food an lose weight, it's not from cutting out that food, per se. It is about cutting down on calories.

As far as the acne, there are plenty of anecdotal accounts of people "curing" acne by cutting out animal products and increasing wheat/gluten products.

The research shows that any high glycemic food or dairy product may increase acne severity.

We are the only ones who can change ourselves and get to improved health overall. There is too much info today and if we don't take control, we have our heads in the sand or wherever. Tempetations are everywhere and one must take control. I stopped bringing breads into my house going on about 7 yrs or more...and pasta, forget it. My downfall is rice crackers (gluten free) but they are still refined carbs. Every now and then I'll buy a slice of pizza at whole foods or a personal size pizza for my freezer but not often.

Watch a documentary called "Sugar: The Bitter Truth." It was a lecture by a scientist. He makes a pretty convincing argument that fructose is literally a poison.
