What is it? Cant really provide any thoughts on it until we know what it is. Could be a couple of Oreo cookies or a Rice Krispy treat (120 cals) for all we know. More info is needed to say if its good or not.

A nutritional protein bar I would use as a meal, probably lunch.

IMO 190 calories is not enough for lunch. You need more calories to sustain yourself through the heart of the day. I usually eat a Quest bar as an after workout snack. It has around 170-190 calories depending on the flavor. Lunch should be more substantial.

No need to be coy, what exception to the rule do you wish to share?

Is a nutritional bar better than lard? Yeah, probably. But really, that's not what is being said.

Just for starters, pre-workout and post-workout. Whole foods tend to cause stomach discomfort for many people when eating before a workout and after a workout a faster digesting protein shake or bad is superior for protein synthesis.

That nutritional profile sounds better than most bars. Low sugar is good. Fiber content is okay, not great. Most bars are loaded with sugar.

Me, I'd also look at artificial ingredients as many of those equals a bar I wouldn't want to ingest.

Does anyone make their own bars? I've been looking for a good recipe using oats and peanut or almond butter.

I have a recipe I use for oat bars I'll send you. I tweak the recipe a bit and don't add most of the sugar called for.

Personally never had that problem. I make my own shakes.
