Yes, makes sense. No offense intended but I don't understand a fact of United States and Mexico. Because I have been living in Mexico, I asked some people, why is there too much obesity in a country where traditional food is healthy? I have the same question to the US. I guess you produce lots of variety of fruits and vegetables, why is there too much obesity in the US then? I guess you don't need to import fruits and vegetables so, what about the price? isn't cheaper enough and affordable to anyone?
Gah..there's nothing wrong with eating 1-2 servings of fruit per DAY. Jeez, hopefully no one is actually paying attention to much of this stuff...
Yes, love the 'fruit is a villain' mind set. Sure it has a lot of sugar, but vitamins, nutrients and fiber are also a good thing to eat. Berries, citrus fruits, especially grapefruit, mangos, apples, etc... are all really good for you.
Yuck, lost my taste for most fruit...........mainly slimy, stinky, messy and pretty close to being just sugar.
Some dried fruit is OK......but I am currently doing keto, so yeah, that ain't gunna work.
ewww you must be getting some nasty fruit that is old and over-ripe!
dried fruit is BAD for keto! that's the worst - concentrated sugar - if your following keto, that's the kind of food you don't eat - (raisins, dried apricots, etc).
Not to mention dried fruit is concentrated sugar minus a lot of the health benefits of the fresh fruit. It's basically candy.
Nothing beats picking fruit from the bush/tree, washing it off, and eating it. When I was a kid in NYC, I traveled to the orchards upstate and consumed apples fresh from the tree. Here in Texas, we pick peaches and berries. I have blackberries in my backyard. Unless you have a metabolic disorder, there is nothing wrong with the moderate consumption of fruit. If you are irregular, eat some berries. How fruit became the equivalent of an empty calorie candy bar is beyond me!

Not much in the world compares to a fresh peach still a bit warm from the sun. I eat blueberries probably 5 days a week for breakfast. It's generally in greek yogurt, oatmeal or a smoothie. When I take the time to make a quickie french toast, I'll mix em with chia seeds for a quick jam.
Honestly, I get tired of ANY food being vilified. I really don't care what eating plan someone else might be following. If it makes them happy and works for their lifestyle, go to it. A friend and her husband were on a low carb thing for a while. We were over for dinner with other guests and I think she served rice. Obviously eating it was optional. Her husband behaved like she'd dusted the entire table with strychnine. I see this behavior in adults and it reminds me of a picky kid throwing a complete fit because there are green beans ON HIS PLATE!!!!!!!
I just started eating dried figs as an occasional snack. They are a perfect snack when I feel hungry right before bed. I east 1-3 and it adds some fiber! They aren't bad in moderation, but not goof for a primary fruit source!
