I keep track of my calories each day and I exercise daily, 7 days a week. I feel better than I have in years. I eat no more than 1250 calories a day and I don eat after 5pm at night. I am an early morning person so I eat breakfast at 6 in the morning. I will be 61 in a few more weeks. I would like to lose 10 more pounds and then just maintain. I have asthma, COPD, and a few other heath problems. I was always on steroids, and I gained weight. I am now trying some herbal remedies for my asthma and they seem to be working.

Good for you for taking charge of your health. Doesn't it feel GREAT to have that weight off.

I've posted a lot about OPC's and asthma and I'm "sure" it would HELP copd. You say you are trying some herbal remedies, maybe grape seed ex is among what you are trying. A friend who deals with asthma is so improved since taking grape seed ex for many yrs.

Congratulations .

It sounds as though you started a few days before I did, and you have me beat by 20 pounds. I've been staying mostly under 1,800 calories, and have only gone over 2,000 calories a few times.

I also haven't been exercising daily .

You are doing really well to achieve this on steroids. I've had friends (decades younger than you) who were really taken off course by different steroid treatments. Hopefully some of your health gains can lessen your need.

Go to a health/nutrition/supplement store with one of those body composition test scales when you start to maintain. It will tell you your body mass in fat vs lean mass and what your resting metabolism is so you can adjust diet accordingly. I think the exercise should have helped maintaining some muscle mass but you might want to add a little strength training if you haven't already.
