Though the berberine is a possibility. None of its side effects coincide with my body weaknesses.

Maybe I'll just stick with willpower for a while; I've lost nearly all the weight I gained since stopping the effexor...
The thing you have to remember about the listed side effects is that it is everything that could even POSSIBLY happen, regardless of whether it was attributed to the medicine itself. Every side effect that comes up during trials must be listed.

For instance, say Drug A is going through trials and there are 100 subjects in the trial. If one of the suspects eats some tainted food and has diarrhea the next day, then diarrhea must--by law--be listed as a potential side effect.

Provigil is ludicrously expensive then although it's now off patent hence modafinil.
True, but because these are (generally) not controlled substances, they are readily available from online/overseas pharmacies, usually in low cost generics.

I seem to be especially prone to certain types of side effects, so I avoid medicines that list anything relating to them. I have learned from experience.

And if you look at lists of side effects, they're usually separated into common, less common, rare, unknown occurrence, and fatal. Just kidding on the fatal.

Buying supplements online is rolling the dice. Make sure you know that the company that is selling them is reputable and/or its a brand you know. Otherwise you can end up with pretty much anything.

Water and exercise are great suppressants for me. I can usually eat a small snack for dinner after I've been to the gym. I have to go when I'm just starting to get hungry though...I can't wait until my stomach's growling. Then it's too late and I'll just be starving all the way through my workout, and end up eating a huge plate of pasta.

It's not technically a 'suppressant' but I find that mints help keep the cravings away. A little tic tac after lunch and I won't crave a mid-afternoon snack. A swig of mouthwash after dinner and I won't be thinking about dessert right up until bedtime. That may just be me though...I generally hate the taste of mint so I guess it's kind of my own food turn-off.

ding ding ding! I've had thyroid cancer.

I've been trying berberine; doesn't seem to have any effect at 1 capsule a day.

I strive to eat low-carb, but afternoons are difficult.

To combat hunger, maybe eat more whole meals that feature carbs, veggies, and meat. For under 400 calories, you can eat 1 small potato (110), 4 oz lean ground beef/chicken (160), veggies (20-50 cals per cup)

It's not about hunger, it's appetite.

I'm not sure what you are saying. Not hungry but eating anyway?

Drinking water before a meal is always good, or add a fiber mix to it.
