I have more than 10# to lose, but I'll jump on this one. Once I stopped my anti-inflammtory diet I regained 5# guve or take. My skin is worse and I have more cravings. So it looks like I am back on it starting now. And I'll resume my workouts after I wrap up this stressful week.
I have more than 10# to lose, also, but I do better when I look at weight loss in smaller chunks.

Yes! The longest journey begins with the first footstep. A woman in my breakfast group lost 100 lb.s over the course of a year. We're all so proud of her. It was and is a valiant effort on her part.
She's lucky in that her spouse is very supportive and did not try to sabotage her journey to optimum weight..
Yes, sometimes if I've had an early dinner and I'm still awake at 10 or 11, I'm hungry. Stomach's complaining and have trouble falling asleep.
But I've found it's protein that helps me sleep as carbs spike my blood sugar.
So, I have a few nuts or a small hunk of cheese -- even a T of peanut butter. And some water. Being dehydrated can prevent good sleep -- and I don't drink enough sometimes.

Yes. Years ago after I had my daughter, I did Weight Watchers at work. My husband would go get a bowl of ice cream and wave it in my face and say, "Haha, I am having ice cream and you can't have it!"
So, I shot him.
(Not really. We got divorced. Not over my weight, but over his inability to detach his ass from a barstool.)
I look at losing weight in five-pound increments. I make five pounds less than I weigh my goal, and when I get there, my new goal is another five pounds down. Psychologically that seems to have worked for me.

See if this works for you..
I have the same issue - I started allowing "small" desserts at bedtime to help with that...like "1" piece of Giradehlii (spelling) dark chocolate?
I would like to lose about 10 lbs also. Started going back to gym, reducing food intake, etc. since after New Year. I was down 2 lbs, but now I have the womanly monthly bloating thing going on and I am back up again. ugh!! I am not going myself out as having lost weight till this "thing" is over...but count me in, I am already working on it!
Here's to all our friends and loved ones giving us their full support on our weight loss/health venture -- and curses on those who don't!
But we can support one another, yes?
Thinking in 5 lb. increments sounds like a great way to go! I'm gonna borrow that idea from you, if I may?
Sounds more doable than looking at the big picture. Baby steps.
My stomach has been giving me grief these last few days -- hungry and grumbling as if saying -- "hey, where's all that good junk you've been feeding me since Thanksgiving?"
But I've resisted, and gone and had another glass of water...maybe I can drown the fat? lol Shrink, stomach, shrink!
And re the chocolate...my little treat as a reward for a day of healthy, controlled eating is one small square of 75% dark chocolate, too. Satisfies my sweet tooth and scores high on the creamy scale, also. Much better than a huge portion of ice cream or some big gooey dessert of mega-calories...
Good on us...here we go! Getting smaller and healthier every day in every way.
count me in. I lost weight on the 5:2 diet a couple of years ago but let my eating habits slip.
First thing for me is to kick sugar
I have more than 10lbs to lose but its a good first goal.
current weight 168lbs 5'5" BMI 28.0
Welcome! Yep, let's kick sugar to the curb. It's very addictive for me -- and for many of us. Causes me to binge. Same with things like chips. Like the salt and grease.
What's your plan? I won't bring them into the house. I know myself too well. Low resistance. But I have been limiting myself to that one small square of 75% dark chocolate. It's small but satisfying and my reward to a food day of eating wisely.
Like you, I'm 5'5" and am up to 154 lbs., post-holidays. Most of it in my Buddha belly. Not a pretty sight. My goal weight is 140-142.
Here's the deal -- no dues, no membership, no rules -- just a nice group of people like you--and me-- who might have had a wonderful holiday of eating all that good grub -- and now want to lose ten pounds -- more or less-- of holiday pudge.
I started today. First order of business -- cleaned out the fridge of all the old stuff --out of date stuff and melted, slimy vegetables. All sparkly new and clean now.
Then, went grocery shopping. Got a nice assortment of vegetables and fruit (berries). Skipped the cheese. Skipped bread. Bought lentils, barley. Black beans. And some canned salmon, some good quality sardines.
Gonna eat the Med diet...lots of vegetables, a bit of fruit, some chicken, more fish. That's it. Ditch the sugar, ditch the white carbs. Lots more salads, soups, beans one bowl meals. Eggs.
No sodas. Lots of water.
What do you think? Are you in???
Ten pounds.
Starting now.
Easy peasey?
Can we do it together??
I'm in.
I've lost 50 lbs since last March (and am now at the top of normal....just below overweight), but I'd like to lose at least another 17 lbs....and 10 represents a good start.
From 1/1/18 on....for the most part ....I've replaced coffee with peppermint tea.
Does anyone struggle with eating at night after dinner? I do great up until then. It's like I need carbs to sleep, or I'm restless for hours!
I usually have to eat before I go to bed.....but I eat a number of little meals or snacks at different times during the day....ranging from a low of 50 calories, to a maximum of 290 calories.
All of my days between 1/1/18 and today have been between 1400 and 1850 calories.
From my 'start' in March of 2017, all of my days have been over 1,200 calories, and likely on <5% of those 297 days during 2017 (I'd have to check my records) did I go over 2,000 calories.
I'm a smidge over 6' 3", and on 12/31/17 I weighed 202 lbs.
Since March, I've generally tried to increase my protein consumption, and decrease my carb consumption.
I'm 'unattached' (), so I don't have to worry about when anyone else is eating.
