and you wouldn't want to or need to fast. Fasting is not painful if your are lean, to you it may be but not to everybody.
It starts getting painful when you are too lean because it's much less muscle sparing. If you are a fatty, it's extremely muscle sparing.

Once you reach your goal, stay there and maintain your health. I don't care for or believe in the mainstream, quite the contrary and you are basing your statements on your experience or what you saw on that youtube video you posted. Fasting has been used for centuries for therapeutic advantages as you state and your DON'T fatten up first just so you can fast. I say get to your goal and yes keep fasting. It's not painful in the least.
When I say fatten up, I'm talking 10 lbs that easily disappears in a week. I'm not saying that you need to gain 40 or 50 lbs. Of course I'd keep fasting when I'm lean. I regularly do 24 and 48 hour fasts easy peasy. But a week long fast is not possible because my body fat would fall dangerously low and I would indeed become catabolic.

And while you are at it, why don't you elaborate on these therapeutic advantages.
I've pointed to academic papers and articles numerous times about fasting to improve cancer prevention & treatment, but most experience upswings in testosterone (to avoid having to take artificial creams or injections), metabolism and reduced markers of inflammation. All of this is in my n=1 experiment, so I'm keeping my mode of living thank you very much.

Are you at risk for getting cancer? Family members? Seems like a pointless exercise otherwise.

That "water weight" argument is mainstream and silly. Fat cells are made of water, did you know that? Or do you also believe 1lb of body fat is 3600 calories lol
Human kidneys can only make urine that is less salty than salt water. Therefore, to get rid of all the excess salt taken in by drinking seawater, you have to urinate more water than you drank. Eventually, you die of dehydration even as you become thirstier.

I think the term "salt water" is misunderstood in this context. I am not talking about sea water that is overly concentrated. We are talking about 1 teaspoon per liter of salt. There are times I do drink a little fresh water. Been doing this for months with no ill effects. The snake diet guy has been drinking salt water for at least 2 years.
