I've been reading that women need to re-feed more often, some twice a week, depending on the individual. In the past i did it once a week.

Has anyone pushed the re-feed out for an extended period of time? I started on Feb1 and want to hold off until the end of February before i begin carbing up on a weekly basis.

A re-feed? Is that a cheat day?

I'm a guy, but I can tell you I've been on keto since last June. I've had a few cheat meals, maybe 8-10, and one cheat day, Thanksgiving. I have no problems with energy, as a matter of fact I've been doing just fine in that regard.

I don't look at it as a "re-feed", I look at it as a cheat. Maybe twice a month for me and I still don't go crazy and eat a whole pizza or anything like that.

For what other reason would you want to do this?

My next one is the Saturday after Valentine's Day, but I'm not gonna go crazy.
I'm planning on having Japanese, but taking it easy on the rice.

After that, who knows. Crustless pizzas eliminate a lot of the urge...

in the lifting world, the term "refeed" is used re: carb intake.

I don't follow controlled carb intake/carb cycling, so I'm sorry I can't help you.

When I was lifting, I didn't refeed. I ate carbs every day.

Have you ever tried Keto Pizza made with Fathead dough? It's delicious and low carb. There's no gluten in the crust, so it doesn't have the chewiness of regular pizza dough, but you can put whatever toppings you want. Use sugar free pizza sauce or even Alfredo sauce.

Nope.
I make a wicked crustless pizza, so I have no need for a crust.
I use Mids for my pizza sauce.

Yes, a cheat day. There are some downsides to going strict keto. One of them is dry eyes and if you go too long without carbs it will start to affect your sleep.

I've never understood the concept of a cheat day. Why cede any gains you've made on purpose?

Someone close to me is remarkably disciplined six days a week but goes crazy either Saturday or Sunday. I've witnessed them consuming more than 4,000 calories during that day which wipes out at least one-third of their progress for the week.

It would make way more sense to enjoy small samples of favorite foods along the way to dull the edge of temptation.

Affect your sleep? I have zero problems going to sleep. If anything, the opposite is true, as soon as 10 pm comes around I have problems staying awake. I don't have dry eyes either. I think your issues may be mineral or vitamin deficiencies. By the way, unless you are on a carnivore diet, you ARE consuming carbs. Everything except meat and fat has carbs.

Do you supplement?
