I eat this often for breakfast along with plain yogurt. I'm wondering if it's healthy to do so. My macro diet suggest that I consume less than 63 grams of sugar daily.
Yes, the sugar amount in fruits vary. For example, berries are lower in sugar while ripe bananas are high in sugar. Keep in mind that the sugar in fruits (fructose) can only be processed by the liver. I think fructose is plants' defense against predators.
I don't eat pre-cut fruit from stores. "According to Consumer Reports, pre-cut produce is "more likely to be contaminated with bacteria." Commercial processing facilities risk cross contamination because of how many fruits and vegetables are being handled at once, and consumers have no way of knowing if the prep areas, surfaces, or utensils are being sanitized properly."
It seems to be a very small cup and you eat it only once a day, not every day.
Unless you have some health problems, you should eat two servings of fruit daily. If you're concerned about sugar, try to eat those: https://www.healthline.com/health/best-low-sugar-fruits
If you don't know how much is 60gram of sugar:
4.80 Tablespoons
14.40 Teaspoons
Almost 5 tablespoons of sugar is actually a lot!
On my daily walk, I see many apple and peach trees with fallen fruits around them. No animals eat these things. Cats don't eat them. Dogs don't eat them. Birds don't eat them. If these fruits are so healthy, why didn't these animals evolve to eat them?
