When I get pieces like that I like to get ones that are really thick. Like dove or these local choco shop squares. stick em in the freezer so you dont keep having one more and then one more and then one more and just 3 more.

Frozen chocolate - not easy to chew and chomp really fast.

Try Dove dark chocolate. It is less sweet and will help you to feel that chocolate is less appealing. Dark chocolate has a kind of bitter aftertaste which is useful in retraining the taste buds.

I'm a huge chocolate addict. What helped me to cut back on it is a mineral you can get at the health food store called Chromium. It cuts down the cravings for all sweets.
Although if it's around, you may eat it but not as much.
About once a month maybe I'll buy something chocolate for myself in a single serving and I'll eat it. It finally occured to me that I cannot have chocolate in the house or I will lose control.
I don't miss it as bad when I take chromium.
There is something else the health food store sells that makes anything sweet taste horrible when you eat it but I can't think of the name right now. I did that too but you've got to use it in order for it to work and the chocolate craving was too much to handle for me to sprinkle something on my tongue when I ate something sweet so I stick to the chromium.
Foods rich in chromium are sardines and oysters in case that helps.

Thank you so much. This was the advice I was looking for. Judging by the previous replies, I think some people didn't understand what I meant by addiction. Is it a pill or powder? Do you take it every time you get a chocolate craving? How long does it last?

I keep M&M's in business......
but I have learned to eat them very slowly, let them melt in my mouth and I eat less that way.
