That allows me to feel charged up for the day and it's out of the way.

Well i go to seriously workout and not to socialise or hit up on women as when i used to workout at nite the gym was so packed that you had to share the weights/machines etc..where as in the early morning i have most of the gym to myself....which is cool.

I think most people add water or milk.....but for me i just take 2 scoops (50 grams) and put it directly in my mouth and chew on it as it taste like chocolate fudge and then drink hot Green Tea after which washes it all down....lol.... but beware it will stick to your teeth for about 30 minutes .

I usually buy Optimal Nutrition's Whey Chocolate fudge or Chocolate Chip Mint 5 lb container for around $40.00 at my local health food store where i live.

Now go get em Adventuregurl .

Personally, Ive burned off several hundred calories yesterday and today while throwing massive temper tantrums over the fact that we are the ONLY place in Oregon to have not gotten any snow.
Few more calories burned while doing "PLEASE LET IT SNOW!!!" dances, then even more while chasing the Ogre I call my husband while he taunted me w/weather reports of snow fall and sticking in a 25mile radius around us.
More calories burned in sobbing with my children as we woke to reports of school/work closures from everyone we know, and everywhere but our town.
Other than that, a few nice brisk walks around the mall in search for Christmas gifts....
See, you can fit in exersize anywhere.

Fitness is my priority outside of work- I am at the gym religiously 4-5 days a week and once on the weekends. I run 3 miles every other day, I do 45 minutes on the ellipitical and stair master every day, and I lift weights 3x a week. On the days I'm feeling lazy and need a push I will go for a trailrun (Usually on weekends) at Ramapo Reservation, I'll take a quick 45 minute aerobic class, or I'll try and incorporate yoga and stretching.

As you get older your body is in more need of stronger bones, eating healthy, and being fit. Say no to sugars, saturated fats, and over indulging. Not only is fitness preventive for disease and illness, but also for mental health and wellbeing!

Get out, get up, and get fit !!

Cheers !

Michele

Ahm, why did not one suggest one simple thing:

Go exercise at the nearest gym on your LUNCH BREAK!

I joined a gym that is conveniently near my house and has a branch near my job...I told myself i would get up and get in there near my house for the 6am classes like i use to years ago before I turned into a couch potato after having the little one...but overslept like hell today.

No problem, I packed the clothes, socks, and sneakers in my car, and left 10 minutes before cause the gym is 5 minutes down the street.

I was only able to get in 40 minutes of the hour-long lunch class so I would have time to change and drive back, but I made it count, I got that burn, and now I can safely say I exercised today!

i would still like to do the 6am classes just because 1st thing in the morning burns fat faster...but if not, the noon classes on my lunch hour are just the thing. Try to get there before the class starts and then if anything you can leave maybe 15 minutes before it ends so you are changed and back at work by 1 or even 1:05.

By law you get 2 15 minute breaks in an 8 hour workday anyway that are paid, so a few minutes on either end of your lunch break won't kill your boss.

Good luck. You can eat lunch at your desk after you get back.

The poster's schedule sounds like mine; come 5 p.m. the last thing in the world I want to think about is exercise....

I get up at 5:30 a.m., I try to get my gym clothes ready for me when I jump out of bed.

I head to the gym so I can get 45-an hour of cardio in on the precor epi machine & then 3x a week I've added some weight work. And be finished by 7 a.m.

I try to go 5x a week and have never felt the need to work out on the weekend; that's my down time.

Improve your diet & portions and slowly but surely you will lose weight.

UPDATE: I was working out on my lunch break then... company downsized and the receptionist/executive admin were let go. Soooooooooooooooo take a wild guess what happened next!! LMBO You guessed it.... the 1 hr 15min gym lunchbreaks came to an end. lol

My daughter started a new school and she's in a magnet program (has to be there earlier then regular students). So I have to get her to school by 7am and I have to be to work by 8:30am. So..... I now work out 7am-8am and take my work clothes to the gym with me.

NOW.... if I can get my eating together... things would be GRAND!! LMBO

It's good to know that you now have found the time to go on gym and exercise. Yes, healthy eating should go with exercise. The effort you and time you spend on the gym will be useless if you don't have a diet program that goes with it. I read some threads here that might give you an idea what to eat and not.

I enjoy reading this forum.

Exercise for me is easy. I started my job 28 months ago to this day. I started at 193# with a beer belly and waist line of 38. Within 4 months I was down to 145# with a waist line of 34 with a four pack.
The ideal of 145# isnot my ideal weight it just happen that way and no matter how much carbs I eat I can't get the weight back naturally. So now I'm trying this ensure+ to help me put on some weight. I not going to mix up weight gain protein shakes because of the health risk I hear about and see.

To get to the story I wake up at 4:30 am drink cold or hot tea, eat a bowl of oatmeal, cereal or a turkey sandwich and a fruit then I'm off to my daily workout. I do maybe 2500 to 3000 squats a day, climb approx. 1000 to 1500 stairs and manually load anywhere between 11k to 17k on a truck in a normal work day. I eat a turkey sandwich or fastfood in between the work day. At home cake, icecream, chips, crackers whatever I can pig out on until dinner which is normally Chicken (bake or fried), Turkey links, tacos or burgers, Pasta with Turkey meat, Chilli with Turkey meat or Three Cheese Pizza or Pizza puffs. I burn more calories than I putting in my body.

My ideal weight is 190# lean and mean for my height of 6'1'.
Do goat milk help you gain weight?

I've never set foot in a gym and I don't really do workout dvds because of my attention span, so here's what I do:

A bunch of other people said, walk! I live in a part of town where nothing is within 'walking distance', but when weather permits i'll walk to the two miles to my friends store. I also have a bike, but that's hard to use here and with the hills it's actually less work to walk, even if it takes longer.

Do you usually watch t.v.? There are a lot of t.v. shows I really like, and obviously as it gets colder i'm willing to spend more time cuddling my dog on the couch. But a few of those times a week i'll watch a show while hula hooping (I made my own hoop) and lifting hand weights. You can also do crunches, jumping jacks, anything that doesn't require a lot of concentration.

Dance parties! I don't know how old your daughter is, but provided that she isn't at that age where it would be embarrassing, put on some fun tunes and dance around your living room.
